Chris’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience and the triumph over adversity. Despite a challenging upbringing, he attributes his success to his Christian faith and the unwavering support of others. Raised by a single father battling internal demons, Chris knows firsthand the struggles of deprivation, having endured countless nights with hunger pangs and the absence of basic necessities like running water and electricity. However, his beloved grandmother, Ida, assisted when his father could not.
Driven by a determination to overcome his circumstances, Chris enlisted in the United States Army, where he was in basic training during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He served in combat in Afghanistan, supplying munitions and fuel to Apache Attack helicopters, oversaw security details, and provided armed escorts for locals supporting the Bagram airfield. His military service instilled a sense of duty and dedication to his country.
During his remarkable career serving his country and community, Chris has received accolades such as an Army Accommodation medal for his service in Operation Enduring Freedom, an Army Achievement medal for leadership, and an Exceptional Service Medal as a law enforcement officer.

Throughout his journey, Chris found the fortitude to prevail, propelled by the unwavering support of his family and his steadfast faith. Chris's bond with his high school sweetheart, Ebony, has endured for 22 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they nurture their family, which includes their son, C.J., and two daughters, Christiana and Christian, with boundless devotion and care.
As a Southside Church of Christ member, Chris remains grounded in his faith and strives to inspire others, particularly young people, to overcome their adversities. This spiritual grounding serves as a guiding light in Chris's life, anchoring him amidst life's trials and triumphs.
Chris holds a degree in criminal justice from Columbia College and is a licensed pilot. When he is not fulfilling his responsibilities at the Supervisor of Elections office, he cherishes spending quality time with his family at the beach and reading books on leadership.
